Stove - converting electric to gas?
Does anyone know what it would cost to convert an electric stove to gas - assuming the house did not have a gas line already?
Just something I am thinking about as we are looking at houses. TIA.

If there's gas in the street, key span will run 100 feet for free. But you need to get a plumber to bring the line into the house. I think the plumber was around $800, but we had him run a line for the BBQ and dryer also.
Then you have to figure in the cost of the new gas stove.

Not sure how much since DH did it all himself. It is so worth it to have it, nothing like cooking with a flame. The gas lines were too far away from our home for LIPA to do anything

We are doing this, Keyspan ran the gas line from the street for free, the plumber is charging us $2600 to hook up the gas for the stove, the dryer, and hot water heater and will take care of getting the permits and inspection done. (Keyspan said it must be a licensed plumber, otherwise we could've gotten a non-licensed plumber for MUCH less)

That's really cheap!!! We converted to gas and it cost us $6,000.
