That is weird, I would think that jeans are "picnic attire." Where is it?

That is weird, especailly that they said no jeans, but not no shorts, so it doesn't sound like they want it to remain profesional. DO they jsut not condiser jeans summery& picnincy enough?
is this a day you are nto goignto the office? DH's comapny has one during work, so they wear don't dress down--they jsut go outsid eat lunch & then go back to work.
It depends where it is & what you will be doing ( sitting at tables, or on the ground, etc) , but I'd wear long shorts & probably a top more casual than posted, or casual pants, like chinos, (I don't wear capris, but if you do, that would work)

I just found out it is at a country club in Pelham Manor, from 10am - 2pm....maybe thats why its no jeans....I heard there will be games there (like softball and basketball) so Im thinking of wearing Khaki capris and a nice tee shirt
