HELP! DOG TRAINING RELATED (LONG)

We have two yorkies. One is 18 months the other is 11 months. They know to pee/poop outside and they do it automatically as soon as we bring them out even on command!

The problem is that they also still go inside!!!Chat Icon Both of them.

We have practiced all the training techniques that we know including heavy praising and treats when they do go out. They even look for the treat when they do go out. They are also crate trained and will not (unless they are sick) go in their crates.

The thing that bugs me is that they know they have to go outside, they are able to hold it all night in their crates, yet an hour (sometimes less) after going outside, they will still go in the house.

Now I am having a baby in February and will not stand for this. I feel badly, but I am at the point where they have to stay in their crates unless I could hold them on their leashes inside.

DH who is way more easy going than me has also had it.

Okay, so the question...does anyone know of a good trainer?

This is my last hope.

Thank you.

No trainer suggestions since I don't live in NY anymore, but have you thought about un-crate training them? Since you say they won't go in the crate, they must understand that the crate is their space for sleeping and all that adn want to keep it clean... maybe they're so used to being crated that they consider the rest of the house AND the outside as a place to go? Not sure what else could help. Good luck finding a trainer!
