Re: Help! Gift for a non-girly nine year old girl!!
I wasn't a girly girl and I always liked science kits - chem sets, physics experiements- building motors with magnets - basically anything I had to figure out and could make stuff happen
a favorite gift was a compass with a book on how to use it
Art sets were also always a favorite

I know my niece loves to do craft kits and they're always in that price range.

Re: Help! Gift for a non-girly nine year old girl!!
Costco has the most ADORABLE makeup bag. I bought it for my 9 year old neice. It is pink and a roll shape- kinda LV inspired. It has 3 drawers on the inside with EVERYTHING you can imagine...lipgloss, body glitter, nails, nailpolish, jewelry, eyeshadow, etc...It's for young girls. SOOOO cute. It was $20.
ETA- DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Just read you wanted NON-girly. Sorry...I'm a spaz!

Re: Help! Gift for a non-girly nine year old girl!!
DH doesn't "allow" gift cards so that's part of my issue.
And we've asked his brother & wife for suggestions since Thanksgiving and they are being no help whatsoever!! So I don't know if/what kind of gaming systems they may have.
I bought her the Webkinz stuff because I saw her online doing whatever it is you do with them on Thanksgiving!!
She may just get a pink Nike Baller.

Yes, that one has saved me too, but it closed--I'm not store if the ones in the malls are still opened, but at least the website is.
ETA- I don't see a store finder on the website. Maybe all the stores did close.
