Help! Hannah is no longer sleeping thru the night and I don't know what to do!
Hannah has never been a great napper or sleeper. she did sleep thru the night for a couple of months and then she started teething in december and hasnt slept thru the night consistently since.
lately what is happening is that she wakes up around 2-3am and cries. my dh goes in and checks her diaper which is usually very wet, so he changes it. but then she is wide awake and starts hysterically crying. then i come in and take her and she calms down but wont go to sleep without a bottle.
she also needs some help falling asleep for naps.
at night she takes her last bottle and falls asleep immediately after. i usually hold her for a bit and then put her down.
i am afraid to let her CIO b/c when she gets hysterical she vomits.
help!
signed a very sleep deprived mommy!

Could you let her CIO and be in the room with her? This way you can prevent her from vomiting? Does that make sense?

Re: Help! Hannah is no longer sleeping thru the night and I don't know what to do!
We went thru the exact same thing for what seemed like an eternity. I had to start replacing that soothing back to sleep bottle w/the paci, and eventually (right around the time change) he stopped waking. He was getting 2 teeth and starting to sit, is Hannah doing anything new or teething?
Now if he wakes he gets a diaper change, paci and back in the crib. I'll only go back in once after that if he is really crying to put the paci back in. Usually that puts him out til morning. I don't know if that helps you but that's been our pattern and he has started sleeping thru again recently. Good luck! I know you're exhausted

I'm so sorry I don't have any advice but i want to give you hugs
I am going through this now too, and we are night 14 of waking up screaming 2-3 times a night. A bottle calms her down at lets us get 3 hours.
The only 2 things i can point my directional finger at is teething and reflux bothering her again...

I bet that's it! If you let her fuss a little I wonder if she might settle back down now that those teeth are thru. Ryan goes one way or the other w/fussing at night - either falls back to sleep or all h ell breaks loose...it's always a guessing game isn't it?!?!

Probably teething. Have you tried Hyland's Teething tablets??? They are wonderful and you can get them at CVS. They are homeopathic and they work! However, when Gracie is teeth really badly, the only thing that works is motrin. HTH

A lot of times they can figure out how to stand up, but don't know how to get back down, so that could be causing the problem.

We are going through the same thing! I think DD just wants to play with us. When I bring herinto bed with us, she doesn't want to sleep. She talks and plays.
We just let her cry itout and hope it will end soon. SHe jsut got 3 teeth on top so that may be part of it too.

Re: Help! Hannah is no longer sleeping thru the night and I don't know what to do!
We had the same problem a couple of months ago. Maybe try not changing her. That may be waking her up too much. If she was sleeping all night you would not be changing her so let her stay the way she is. Don't go in to her right away. Let her try to figure it out first and then if she really gets hysterical go in and soothe her for a minute or two and then put her right back down maybe with a paci if she takes that. This is the only thing that worked for us. Trying to calm and soothe her back to sleep just made her worse. Now if she wakes up I wait a few minutes to see if she figures out how to put herself back to sleep (usually it just takes finding her paci in the crib). The only time I go in to her is if she is REALLY upset and not stopping.
