Help!! How can I keep a hat on my 14 month old's head??
Short of crazy gluing it! He will not keep a hat on his head. He can open the velcro chin straps in two seconds. We are in Florida - major sun exposure - and he is milk white and blonde - I'm not used to skin like that!! Anyone know of any hats that have a better chin strap with something that might be more difficult for him to open? Children's Place has hats online that say hook and eye chin strap closure but I need to call them to confirm. I think that's wrong b/c it looks exactly like the hat in the store, which is velcro - even the online pic looks like it's velcro!
Thanks!

Diana,
It's velcro, right? Maybe I just need to try another brand/kind, but he's been very successful at pulling off velcro so far

Sunblock on the head/in the hair is the only way. Now that DD is older she will keep a hat on and actually ask for it. Just keep trying it and he'll eventually get used to it.

Re: Help!! How can I keep a hat on my 14 month old's head??
I actually found that doing the opposite worked for me. I put on hats without any straps or anything, and DS will keep them on. He doesn't like when something is going across his chin. When he's in a mood and doesn't want the hat on, I just have to replace it a few times before he just lets it be. Although I've pretty much trained DS to wear his accessories from very little so that may not work for everyone.

I've tried baseball hats and he's ripped them right off but I may need to try them again. He didn't have a problem wearing hats when he was a baby, he couldn't take them off then

We got DD a hat with straps you tied (rather than velcro) and double knotted the bow.
