Help! I cannot get my DD to take a bedtime bottle (sorry long)
UGH! I've really had it. I don' know how to fix this. First of all she's almost entirely disinterested in bottles to begin with b/c of solids but now she won't take the bedtime one at all. This might not be the end of the world except she barely takes 3 or 4 oz at the other two bottles so she doesn't get much as it is. We've tried moving dinner earlier thinking that she was still full from dinner. I've also tried decreasing the amount of solids at dinner. I tried moving dinner later to get in another nap. I know the nap and eating are related with this kid. She used to take two afternoon naps of 40 min each. One early afternoon and one late afternoon, maybe 4:30 or even 5pm. Then bed by 8pm. She started sleeping longer in the morning weeks ago, like an hour and a half and now that leaves her waking at around 11:45 or noon. So now she no longer needs an afternoon nap until 2pm or later and suddenly she doesn't want a later afternoon nap, which ok fine, but the problem is then 7:30 hits and she's so tired and she violently pushes the bottle away. Once or twice we've put her down and then woke her a little later to feed her, sometimes that works but I think that's a bad habit for a kid that used to go down and stay down for 12 hours. A few times she fell asleep without it entirely and once she slept through but the other times she woke during the night or early morning. Anybody else go through this? Please help

Well, we're having a semi-bottle strike over here, as well. I have no magic advice, but remember that there's no written rule that they need to have a bottle right before bed time. Infact, what if you move her last bottle to before dinner, then move her dinner later? Have you tried giving her formula from the sippy cup? Ava will sometimes take it from a sippy cup, but it has to be ice cold. So weird. But anyway, what does she eat throughout the day? Are you putting formula in her cereal? This is where making Ava's babyfood really comes in handy. When she hasn't had enough formula during the day, I make mashed potatoes with it, I puree it into the chicken, the apples, the carrots, etc. You name it, I'm putting formula in it. Maybe try that?

(She's about 8 months correct?)
why does she need a bedtime bottle? We never did anything specifically before bedtime and especially if she will sleep well without one I think that she possibly just does not need it.
Is it because she is not eating enough ozs during the day? I would try to give her a bottle before her last meal of the day and see how that works. But I don't think she needs one to go to sleep. (or at least it doesn't sound that way)

thanks guys. maybe I'll try to give her the bottle earlier in the day and move dinner later. that might work. I guess nothing says she has to have a bedtime bottle. I suppose if I want to look on the bright side maybe that will be a good thing later when she has teeth I won't have to worry about bottle rot, right?
