Re: help! i need inspiration for paint ASAP!!
WOW, your mom is REALLY talented. when viewing the pics my eyes were immediately drawn to the rich colors in the rug. first thought was a warm tan or burgundy. however, these colors (especially the burgundy) would not blend well with the art. i know the other side of the room is green but how about a darker/warmer shade of green (like the color of the chair cushions) for the rest of the room?
another thought is a black accent wall with the rest of the room painted in the warm green.
eta: you mentioned that the moldings will be removed and painted. what molding are you referring to? i don't see any?

unless you want gold (which i don't think would look nice), black or green are really your only options. if the flower colors in the art were shades of burgandy than it would be a no brainer but since it isn't, your color choices are somewhat limited.

burgundy is a great option for the accent wall.
i can move the art to the girls bedrooms upstairs...

Re: help! i need inspiration for paint ASAP!!
great idea!
i didn't suggest (although attempted to subtly hint) moving the art because i did not want to offend you. the art is beautiful but IMHO really does not belong in this room. the traditional style and colors of the room do not blend well with the modern style and vibrant colors of the art.
eta: what about tan for the other walls? BM louisburg green and lenox tan are a good color combo. there are pics of both colors in my album. den is louisburg green, guest room is lenox tan. both colors are actually a little darker IRL.

I have similiar accents in my BR I went with neutral walls...Carlise Cream (spell?) BM, i thinks its a great neutral color and that way you can play around with curtains, rugs, pillows etc.

Re: help! i need inspiration for paint ASAP!!
I will post pics when it is complete. We popped off all the wood molding, painted the AC wall red (we have a fourth coat to put up yet!!), and the other two walls are slightly ligher than the green that is on the stair wall...
It looks pretty good so far. the greens are done, but because the molding isn't up it looks sloppy, otherwise i'd show you pictues.......
i will update later this week.. maybe next weekend as we have split schedules and two kids so during the week, nothing will get done.
