Help-Kitchen chairs scratching hardwood floors?

We currently have those little sticker felt pads on the bottoms of our kitchen chairs to protect the floor but they don't work so well. They slide off or shift to the side after not so long and the floors are still getting scratched. I've seen what look like hard plastic disks that you nail into the bottom of the legs but I don't understand how that wouldn't just scratch the floors also.

Does anyone know of a good product or solution to this?

We have the hard plastic disks as you describe and I had the same thought but figured I would give it a try.

They work great - no scratching at all. I think because they create a smooth surface on the bottom. Nailing them in means they don't fall off like the felt stickers. We've had for 4 years and no issues. I highly recommend.

Thanks everyone. I didn't know they have nail in felt pads, I've never seen those. It is encouraging to hear that people have had success with some of these products.

I use the plastic caps on teh chairs - I had issues with the felt coming off of the felt pads and the plastic caps prevent DS from sliding the chairs around (which was one of his favorite activities).
