Help me find palazzo style capris.... Updated with a yay or nay link on bottom...

I'm not sure if that's the exact word for it....

I have my twentieth HS reunion in a lounge in the city with a backyard bamboo garden.

I was thinking of wearing a silk flowered dress, or a metallic dress.... But I'm thinking a July evening outside in the city, I could look more sophisticated in a nice sleeveless top, some cute accessories, and a simple pair of capris.

I had a pair of wide leg capris a long time ago that I wore to threads.

Capri length, but with wide, palazzo style legs. The waist was low but tapered, so they were fitted at the waist and hip area, and flared out.

I would love to find something like that again.....

Cheap is a plus! Chat Icon

Ok fashion divas, work your magic......

I kinda dig it! I think with a cute pair of heels (sandal type or maybe even a chunky espadrill) they could totally work!

I'd say nay for a few reasons:
1) This is not a good look on MOST people- it is just hard to pull off

2) I don't think this compliments most body types, I think it makes most people look bigger than they are...

3) They look more like harem pants to me..will you cringe at seeing them in photos five/ten years from now or even next year???

Enjoy your party whatever you wear though, sounds like a cool location..

Entertaining the Harem look....

If your tall and thin, you could totally pull this off.

But if your like most of us, something more like this might fit the bill

In person they look like a quirky skirt, more than a pant. So if you look good with a skirt of that length, but all means do it.

I was looking at them. I Think they are great for work.

I have a few pair of full length harem pants. I'm 5'5, and a size 4-6. I'm not sure if I fall in the tall and thin category. I'm curvy and ok with it...... I am not one to shy away from quirky, though Chat Icon

I was going to say, as much as I love that style it wouldn't look good on my body, but you're a lot thinner than me and seem to have a more eclectic style, which is why I think those pants are perfect for you! With a tight top and funky jewelry you will look awesome.

I don't like that length in a wide leg pant. As others said, it looks like a skirt & skirts that length aren't flattering-the cut your leg off oddly.

I think either dress you mentioned would be better.

Thanks LB Chat Icon

I decided to order them. I'll see how they look once they come in. If worse comes to worse - and they are either too casual, make me look like a clown, or like a goodyear blimp, I can wear them for other occasions that call for one of those looks Chat Icon

I have other things to wear. I will still look for a pair of black capris in the stores for cheap since I can always use them for work, and if they are good for that night I'll consider them.

thanks for everyone's input! I appreciate it.

I tend to fall on the quirkier side, but like current trends, and mix and match to make them my own.

But, I happen to love those loose gaucho style. I have danced most of my life so like that flowy look....

i'll keep you guys posted.....

My school consisted of artists and boho types. Rich kids who worked extra hard to dress like they weren't Chat Icon

I'm friends with them all on FB. They all still dress very casually even for dressed up events.

I feel that people who grew up in the city dress differently for nights in the city than those who didn't.... That might come across wrong typed out, but it is something I see all the time. People who move to the city from other places dress differently when they go out. They always dress a lot nicer, IMO. The city people who are born and bred there tend to just always have a more casual style - still put together and sophisiticated, but all in all casual... if that makes sense....

I am putting so much thought into this because of that. I don't want to come to this thing all suburban mom completely taken out of the city, while all of them have stayed there living the fabulous life Chat Icon The clothes I have now for going out are all dressy. I am looking for something in between.

id wear a dress.
i think those pants are too casual- bohemian classmates or not- a dress always looks great.

if i were you, i would go to anthropologie or a place that is like your style and get a great dress and accessorize it well

ETA is this the look you were going for?

Of course they get dressed up to go out. And they dress beautifully. but the style is different. I'm not saying they are shleps. They are extremely put together. But it's just different....

These are cute, but not really Chat Icon

I found a really cute, dressy romper that I may pair with really high heels. And I always have my dress as a fall back if I am not looking for anything too unique, or leggy Chat Icon
