Help me pick a Christening outfit for DS

We are planning DS's Christening for June and I need help picking an outfit.

What do you guys think of these? As you can see, I have a pretty simply taste palette.

It's summer so I want to keep it light and I only want silk or cotton (no polyester if I can avoid it).

Re: Help me pick a Christening outfit for DS

They are all very nice classic looks, I love them all. I voted for number 1 although I think that they will all look nice. Have you seen any of them in person? When we were looking at Christening gowns for DD they all looked the same online but in the store they looked completely different...just a suggestion Chat Icon

ETA: We had DD's Christening this past November and she was overheating in her gown so you may want to consider something with shorts instead of long pants.

I'm on the same search as you... We are also having our DSs christening in Juen. I love the first one as well b/c it's shorts...I'm goina to do shorts just to make sure he doesn't overheat. Then I'll just get extra cute booties. Where did you find these?

No, unfortunately.

I just found these two in shorts from Strasburg Children, do we like them any better.

Shopping for boys is soooo hard:

The above one makes an older child look like a wiener (IMO only, flame away if you want), but I think it could work for an infant, right?

I think this one is adorable, but a suit may be complicated with a 6 month old.

I was just thinking, I could probably have #2 hemmed into shorts. That would look cute, right?

Definitely would be adorable on a baby boy....not loving it on the big kid. The suit is cute but seems really warm & uncomfy for June.

Yes, it would. I really like that one...if they had it in shorts would you have picked that one (#2)? If so, I'd get that and have it hemmed into shorts (if you think that would be relatively easy & successful-- I know nothing about sewing!).

It would be really easy, I could probably do it myself, but just in case I'd take it to a tailor.

Hmmmmm-decisions decisions.

It's between number 2, hemmed into shorts and the wiener romper.

I can't decide!!!!

But, what about number 2 hemmed into shorts? Or, would you still go for #1?

If you had #2 hemmed into shorts a similar style as #1 (tapered isn't the right word, but that kind of thing), I vote for #2 over the "weiner boy" outfit b/c those shorts are more billowy/loose, and I think I prefer the style of #1 shorts. Does that make sense? Chat Icon Chat Icon
