HELP! No longer interested in his bottle!
I feel like I'm loosing my mind!
Ever since we introduced the pacifier to my son several days ago (and we barely use it...just when he's freaking out to calm him), he no longer has an interest in sucking his bottle...he just plays with it, like he has a pacifier in his mouth.
It's a struggle to feed him now (he's only a little over 2 weeks old).
Has this ever happened to anyone?

Alyssa didnt have this problem...she loves her binky (she uses it quite a bit throughout the day actually) but still sucks down her bottles ok. Im sure some of the other ladies will have some ideas though...

Can you see if the company that makes his pacifer also makes bottles. He might not like the nipple of his bottle anymore. My daughter prefered wide neck bottles and wider nipples to the more narrow ones.

Try a different bottle with a different nipple. What kind of bottles are you using?
I hope this helps!

I agree look for something that has a similar nipple to the binky he loves so much

DS didn't like the narrow nipples the hospital gave he does so much better with the wide neck nipple bottles. Also he may not be hungry at that time. Do you have him on scheduled feedings or is it on demand? When Luka is done he usually starts to play with the nipple an then I take the bottle away.

Re: HELP! No longer interested in his bottle!
We are using Avent, and have been trying to keep him to the every 3-4 hour feeding schedule. He acts really hungry, open mouthed...rooting reflex, and then we get that bottle in and he's just not interested.
But today, he was more "normal"...he ate without any problems...I think yesterday was just a bad day...too many strangers in the house, ohhing and ahhhing over him, wanted to hold him, etc.
He was also very over-tired.
However, if this keeps up, I'm going to look into a different nipple.
Thank you so much ladies for your guidance!!! You are a comfort to a frantic new mommy!

Oh good I'm glad he's back to normal feeding! I would've been worried too with a 2 week old doing that. It sounds like you were right and maybe all the bustling around made him more interested in his surroundings than his bottle.
