HELP! Spinoff to irrational fears
I have an irrational fear that something is wrong with my baby. Like I am going to m/c or have a chemical pregnancy or something.
Part of this fear is b/c my Dr. won't see me until Nov 9th (which is normal, I know)...but I want to know NOW that my levels are ok.
Is there some kind of test I can buy to test my levels? I'm not kidding...I want to know now that everything is ok.
Edited - I was sick of freaking out, so I called and they are seeing me tomorrow at noon. They tried to discourage me from coming in but I insisted. I feel better knowing that I am going tomorrow.

I had a prior miscarriage so the doctor sent me for beta levels weeks before my appointment. Its just a blood test that you take three days apart. Tell your doc your thoughts and ask for it.

I have the same fear. I try so hard to reassure myself that there is no reason that anything should be wrong.
I did insist on them writing me a script to go & get bloodwork. You can go to any Lab with a script. I felt better after I saw that my betas were nice & high

I have the EXACT same fear. When I talk about my pregnancy with my mom, I'll say, "Well, if I am a mom in June...." I'm almost expecting that this pg will end in miscarriage
I'm jealous you get to go tomorrow. I need to wait til Nov 16- not because they won't see me, but it's the only time I had free to go in.....
2nd trimester can't get here fast enough (and even THEN, I'll STILL worry....)

I agree. I think we all have the same fear that something is going to go wrong.
I say the same things like "If everything goes as planned..."
I'm not taking anything for granted.

its def a fear but i think its common and normal this early on, thats why i asked for the BETA, now that i know my numbers are high i feel a lot better :)

I feel the same exact way. I keep saying that I want to get to a safe place, when in reality I know that it's really never totally safe until you are holding that baby in your arms.
I am thinking I may call the doctor and ask to go back to get some more bloodwork done to make sure my numbers still look good. My next appt. isn't until November 10th.

That is what I did & it made me feel a whole lot better.
I went from 4031 to over 12k in 6 days
