HELP! The coughing won't stop!

For the past few days, my poor DD has been coughing like crazy...but ONLY when she's lying down (ie naps, bedtime). My poor baby is getting no sleep.

When she's walking around during the day...she's fine. No coughing at all. What could this be????

I have her head propped up with a pillow (she's 2 1/2 yrs old) and a cool mist humidifier in her room, but nothing seems to be helping.

i am not a doctor, but i have this issue when my allergies get bad - it's caused by post-nasal drip. i get a dry cough, the only thing that really helps (other than my medicine) is sleeping on my stomach.

i would talk to your ped

I would say a post nasal drip as well. my son has a drip all the time, and when it is bad at night i give him some benedryl to dry it up otherwise he will cough and then gag himself all night. its not fun..good luck

I tell everyone to try the Vicks plug-ins. I have no idea if they do anything but they seem to help Matteo sleep better at night (along with the humidifier). It has a little nightlight on it though but we put electrical tape over it to cover it b/c it's a blue light!
