HELP us decide - travel related (another option added in the body of the post)

Dh, mikayla and I are coming up to NY in may for a visit Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon we plan to drive to save some $$. Here is my dilema, please keep in mind that dd usually sleeps from 7:30-7 or so...would you....

any advice is appreciated

ONE MORE OPTION would be to leave at 7am and arrive in ny at Mikayla's bedtime. I am just afraid she will sleep too much in the car and not be able to sleep when we get there.

Re: HELP us decide - travel related

hands down, leave at 7 and drive through the night.

We just did that down to FL and it was perfect.

I am driving up to NY solo with Josh in March, leaving at 4 AM...I would love to leave at 7 PM, just don't trust myself alone on zero sleep to make it through.

Re: HELP us decide - travel related

when we left at 7 PM...leo had just gotten home from work. He slept in the car while I did the first shift of driving. Then we switched.

My biggest dilemma with my trip is that I am driving on a Friday, and Howard airs repeats on FridayChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: HELP us decide - travel related

We drove to Montreal for Christmas - at that time DS was 7 1/2 months. Its an 8 hour drive. We left after his morning nap - like 11 am, and just drove thru. We thought about driving thru the night but then he would be up in the morning and we would not have slept. Thats no good for me! We stopped more often than if it was just the 2 of us, but we made it without much fuss. Our DS is pretty good in the car so it wasnt too bad.
I dont know if I would drive thru the night alone too. If I got tired while I was driving, there would be no one with me to perk me up or talk to in order to stay lucid!

Re: HELP us decide - travel related

When we used to drive to from Nc to Ny

We would drive though the night.

Leave at Brianna bed time and drive all the way there and split the time driving so one can sleep and the other one can drive.

It would be easier so u don't have to worry about her cry or having to feed her till the morning

Atleast she will be sleeping

I don't know about doing that...exactly for the reason you mentioned...she would sleep in the car too much...also...if you move while she is sleeping (when she should be sleeping) it might make it easier to get there since you potentially avoid having to stop as much for her. It has to be hard for them to sit still for so long...awake. Unless you have a DVD player Chat Icon
