Help with a running related injury
I have a strange feeling in my foot. It's a very dull pain. Hurts even when I'm not touching it, putting pressure on, etc. It's the outside top of my foot. Goes from mid-foot right up to the ankle. It feels like it may be my ankle?
It's not a horrible pain- more annoying than anything else. Mostly because no matter what I do it hurts- even just sitting!
I was fine yesterday...fine all day today (except for what felt like a bruise on the top outside of my foot- same place). On the drive home from work it started bothering me (and figures it was my right foot!) Any idea what it could be?

Re: Help with a running related injury
Thanks!! I took today off as a second recovery day. It's not bothering, which is good!

Re: Help with a running related injury
My DH had a very similar injury while training for a triathalon, he went to the DR he was nervous it was a stress fracture, but it was actually tendonitis, he just didnt run for about 2 weeks and has been fine since!

That's what I thought it might be...but the pain was so dull and little that I think it might have just been a bruise.

Re: Help with a running related injury
this sounds like exactly what I had about 6 months ago. It was a dull ache that I continued to run on and it ended up being a stress fracture that i made worse by running so please be careful! I was in a boot for 6 weeks but my orthopedic said it was because i continued to run on it! It was a fracture on my 3rd metatarsal, on the top of my foot. It got so bad that I couldn't even walk on it and I still can't wear heels but I am back to running. I just don't want you to do what I did especially because I know how much you love running!

I hope its not that! It hasn't bothered me at all today, so I'm hoping it was just a temporary problem from running the half marathon Sunday!
