Help with Broccoli Rabe
I plan on making sausage, Broccoli Rabe, and pasta for dinner. Silly question: Do I clean it and just trim the end off and cook the rest? Or do I need to discard any more than that.
TIA.

Re: Help with Broccoli Rabe
That's what I do. I cut off the ends, maybe pull a few leaves off if they look wilted. Then rinse a few times and let sit in a colander to drain because the leaves tend to hold a lot of water.
Good Luck!! I love Broc Rabe!!

Re: Help with Broccoli Rabe
i trim the ends off since they are kinda tough.. then i blanche it in boiling water for about 4 minutes (this takes away alot of the bitterness). then throw it in the pan with my already sauteed garlic and sausage for a few minutes.

Re: Help with Broccoli Rabe
I saute the sliced garlic first and then add the broccoli rabe tossing constantly until it turns bright green. I then add 1/4 cup chicken broth and simmer covered for about 5-10 minutes.
