Help with end of season presents for assistants
I teach dance and have 2 assistants that have been with me for about 4 years now. They are both graduating high school this year and going to college so this their last year with me I wanted their end of year present to be something to do with what they're going to school for but would like a little help. One is going to culinary school and wants to be a pastry chef. I was thinking of one of those white jackets a pastry chef wears with her name embroidered in her favorite color. Do you think that would be a good idea, if not please help! The other is going to school to be a corporate event planner. Drawing a blank on that one! Help please...TIA!

A really nice pen for the corporate event planner. A good chef knife for the culinary student.

The pastry chef, you can get her a gift certificate to Willimas sonoma, sur la table, etc.
Honestly? They need cash. They need money for books and stuff at school. Give them a visa card.

I agree with the money idea.
In addition, for the party planner, I would recommend a nice leather binder that holds steno pad, pen, has a few folders and place for future business cards. In the mean time, she will be able to use in courses to take notes, etc and then use it for business.
I got one for college graduation and it still is used and works great for interviews, meetings, workshops, etc.

ITA w/all of this. As a former event planner, I always wanted one of these but never got one.
If you are against the money idea, for the pastry chef, I would suggest contacting the college and find out where the students order their supplies from. Maybe you can set up a small account for her.

Re: Help with end of season presents for assistants
Thank you everyone for the ideas...I think I'm going to do a small personalized gift for each of them then do a visa gift card in addition!

I really like the planner idea. Maybe a Coach one. (I've always wanted a Coach planner) and then what about a nice necklace for the culinary student. Maybe a cake pendant or a whisk.
