Hemmorhoids and constipation...
yes i know... a very sexy topic. but can we discuss?? I think I have a hemmorhoid...ugh. I also can't tell you the last time i pooped even tho i want to! can i take anything over the counter or do i need to talk to my doctor first? I have an appointment tomorrow.

Hemmorhoids and constipation...
That's the worst, sorry. I had bad constipation in the second trimester plus sciatica, it was terrible. You can take colace and citracel (avoid the sugar free version which has artificial sweeteners). That helped. Also drink LOTS of water, it's your best friend, increase fiber, and avoid dairy. It may take a free days but should work.

I eat prunes and dried apricots almost every day and luckily have not had any problems. As for the other little problem, try bringing baby wipes with you when you finally go #2.

Of course talk to your doctor first, but my dr told me to take Colace while pregnant. My first pregnancy I ended up with a chronic fissure tear, which needed repair 5 months post-partum. When I got pregnant the second time, she told me to take 3 Colace (2 in am and 1 in pm) every day. Good luck!

Hemmorhoids and constipation...
You're not alone. I have developed a hemorrhoid during this pregnancy, too! Its an external one, so I can see it when I look in a mirror and spread my cheeks -- sexy, I know. Some people get internal ones. Anyways, I've been constipated for most of my pregnancy and am now taking Colace daily along with my DHA and prenatal vitamin. I alternate between 2 pills and 1 pill. I found when I took 2 pills everyday, I was having the opposite problem, which wasn't that great, either. OBGYN said its totally fine and that some people take up to 3 everyday. You should also look at your prenatal pill -- mine specifically says "non-constipating iron" on the label. High iron levels = constipation, but some pills are specially formulated that the iron doesn't impact your bowel movements!

Oh man. I feel your pain. I have been constipated this entire pregnancy almost. I still haven't gone really good (sorry tmi) I was using Colace and drinking lots of water. Unfortunately I think it's mostly hormones so there's not much you can do. I know that's been the case with me. I've tried everything.

actually i have an iron deficiency so ive been taking an iron supplement! so im sure that's not helping. i just got a stool softener and my dr said to try fiber drinks. good thing i work from home! LOL

To make this even more attractive, I got a Brazilian wax today and didn't even give a $%&@ (no pun intended) when I had to spread my cheeks. I'm friends with my waxer who has been pregnant multiple times, so I'm assuming she knows the situation. I really have no shame. Ha.

I take colace 100mg three times a day. I started it at 9 weeks and I'm now 19 weeks. It's my life saver I would not go a day without it!!
