It should be only a couple of weeks, I think the doctors told my mother she would be out of work for 3-4 weeks

depends on the severity, and the location, i think.
FIL (around 60 yrs old) had it done and was food shopping 4 days later.
My sis' 20 yr old BF had it done, and he was crying for weeks.

My friend (23) had surgery and was back in school 2 days later. He's psycho though

My FIL had this surgery a few months back and stayed home from work for about a week (although he did some work from home). He was out and about again in about 7 or 8 days....
