Hershey lodge
Can those that have gone tell me some specifics We pretty much decided to do Hershey this year (and skip Dutch wonderland since we've done that 3 yrs now). Can anyone tell me about Hershey (we spent day at the park last year but we were rushed we felt Bc it was just a day as we were staying Eden. ). We Were thinking 3 nights at the hershey lodge. Is that too long? Not enough? What can we do besides the actual park (at hotel or staying within Hershey grounds). We are not really looking to do amish / Lancaster Bc we have done that now for a few years Looking to make it strictly a Hershey trip. We have a 3 year old. Tia!

Re: Hershey lodge
I debated staying at the lodge this year b/c it seemed like they had a lot to do there for kids ( my dd is 3 too)
In the end, the price was too much for us right now with a baby on the way so we booked Eden and will make the trip down.
I am hoping to do the kiddie rides at the park and go to Chocolate World in Hershey. The Lodge looked great for the pool area plus I recall reading about Smores campfires, bingo, kids crafts etc.

I would have loved the hershey hotel but it just seemed very expensive. I'd rather save that money for a Disney trip! Lol. I am hoping to get a better deal at the lodge.

Re: Hershey lodge
we have done hershey 2x. The first time we stayed 2 nights. It was good. We traveled day 1 and went right to the park. Spent all day 2 at the park , and on the day we were leaving we went to The Hershey Story Museum, which was cute. They have a chocolate making exhibit where kids can sign up to use the chocolate lab (check the ages though dont remember the age it started at) we went with my BIL's family so we had older kids too but we all thought the museum was good. DS was 18 months at hte time, the other kids (BIL's) were 8, 4.5, 3.
We went last year as a 1 night stay after DW. It was totally rushed. My BILs' family stayed at the Lodge and really liked it had great things to stay (I think they did 2 nights again).
I think 2 nights is probably enough personally. Unless you plan on really taking your time, not spending all day at hte park etc. The kids all love the water park area at Hershey, so plan on spendig 1/2 a day there especially if its nice out!
Have fun!.
PS we stayed at Bluegreen REsort which is a timeshre just down the block. We had a great deal for a 2bed 2bath (in 2009) but werent able to get that last year as they were all booked. But its totally worth checkign out bc it was the the same (or less) as a standard room at H lodge!
