Hesitantly joining you guys!!!!!
Hi Everyone!!
I got my first BFP this past Saturday and since then the line has gotten darker each day and the digital HPT came up "Pregnant" this morning so it looks like I am pregnant!! I am still in shock!!
I am going to the doctor tomorrow to have blood drawn for the first time and I was just curious as to what to expect. What are they looking for? How will I know if things are looking good? I am just wondering.....thanks in advance for any imput.
If all goes well I will be a September mommy!!!

you will prob be getting a lot of blood drawn. I had 9 viles... make sure u def eat before u go. i passed out, cause I really didnt eat much before i went. so EAT!! Good luck

Congrats!! They are going to check your HCG level to make sure its increasing. At least thats what they are doing to me!!

Congrats and wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months!
My first doctor's visit was at 6 weeks. They took my vitals, weighed me, took about 6 vials of blood and gave me a prescription for prenatals.
I went back at 8 weeks for my first sonogram!

An RE will probably draw one vial of blood for beta hCG and progesterone. Mine was a quick appt. at 4 weeks, with the follow up beta 3 days later. The RE will often do an u/s around 6 weeks and if everything looks good you will be released to your OB at 8 weeks.

My first appt we had a question and answer session with NP, LOTS OF blood drawn.. so make sure you eat. It was like 10 vials for genetics screening and all that other stuff. My first appt they also did a pap smear. Good luck and congrats!!! Have a happy and healthy 9 months.  Sticky Sticky

Congrats!!!!
The RE is just going to do a beta...then they will schedule you for a sono and consult with your Dr....once you can see the bean and the heartbeat...they send you off to the regular OB.

I went in and just had one vial drawn this morning. They are just looking to check my hcg and some other hormone level. They are going to call me later today. I am so nervous. I hope this all goes well and everything sticks. On the FRER HPT this morning my line was lighter than yesterday but the digital said pregnant. I hope the line being a little lighter doesn't mean anything. I guess I will know more this afternoon.

Congratulations!!
They will probably only do some bloodwork which will check your HCG levels. (A hormone present in first trimester).
A few days after your initial bloodwork they may have you come back and retest to make sure numbers are doubling as expected.
Some dr.s will do a sono at 8wks, some make you wait till 12wks.
