Hey Team Green... Update... I bought it!
Have you bought any gender specific baby clothes? I have not!
In my adult life, I have become really good with my shopping control. I am a recovering addict of the buying clothes too small just because they were on sale and I'd fit into it someday and never did syndrome. I'm a good 5 years clean!
I rarely go shopping but now I'm finding myself with new creeping tendencies... do I buy it in case I have a girl or do I buy it in case I have a boy?!
Yesterday, I was in Marshall's and had in my cart the cutest, tiniest, NB size little girl puffalump outfit (that's what I call the little one piece onsie with a puffed out butt). It was the softest cotton, sleeveless with kind of a skort action, in an adorable lemony yellow summery fresh plaid with some pink and melon stripes and a cute little dolphin applique (love dolphins!) on the chest! $6 or $8. I thought to myself...if I find an equally cute boy outfit, I'd get it. I did not so I did not.
I'm having slight withdrawals.
As I was holding it, I could so envision the tiny pink flesh chicken legs of what could be my week old daughter in our vintage Peg Perego baby buggy, with all the neighbors running out to greet us!
Me thinks I'm going to Marshall's today!
ETA: As fate would have it, I had to make a business deposit today and our bank is in the Marshall's parking lot! To top it off... in a jam packed parking lot, I got the same spot I did yesterday!
Not that I hope or think I'm having a girl or boy, I just thought it was so summery and cute! I've not bought anything, neutral or otherwise so to date, I've spent $5.99 on baby clothes! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Hey Team Green...
I would go buy it. I think I am going to buy a little girl and boy outfit for the baby to come home in. Maybe I'll waste a little money, if I can't return the one I don't use. Oh well.....I'm okay with that.

Re: Hey Team Green...
If you love it then go buy it... you can either return it or give it to someone as a gift. We're doing a layette with Denny's so I picked out cute boy stuff and cute girl stuff and when the baby is born someone in the family will go pick out the clothes, wash some stuff and bring it to the hospital

Re: Hey Team Green...
I actually have only bought 1 onsie.
being team green will denfinately keep me from over shopping. I fall in love with boy/ girl clothes and then just walk away.
That happens to me all the time, I walk away from something and then go back the next day and I buy it because I can't stop thinking about it!
I think you should buy that girl outfit. $6 isn't going to kill anyone. Now tell me I should go back to Macys and buy that michael kors handbag I saw yesterday

Re: Hey Team Green...
No- I haven't and won't. Like a PP said- not knowing is definitely deterring me from spending all of my money.

Re: Hey Team Green...
I really only bought oneis and some green and yellow oneis with little ducks on it. I want to buy soo bad but not knowning really helps my spending. I think a month before my due date I'll go out and buy a boy and girl outfit to use for the coming home outfit. I'm just scared I'll buy something and it won't fit. I have this feeling I'm going to have a big baby lol I guess if that happens I'll have to sent my mom to go get the baby something I don't trush DH with picking something out

Re: Hey Team Green...
I didn't buy any gender specific clothes yet
In fact, I've only bought a few neutral outfits at a consignment sale, very cute/nice & cheap
I want to wait to see what I get at the shower

Re: Hey Team Green...
I didn't even buy any neutral clothes when I was pregnant. My mom bought a bunch of neutral stuff for me in newborn and 0-3 month. Then, once everyone found out we had a boy, we got a bunch of boy clothing. My mom also went nuts with the boy outfits. I don't think I started buying clothes for DS until he was at least 1 or 2 months old. I've definitely been making up for my lack of shopping during pregnancy though.
