Hi all... New to this board with a question.
Did everyone get an engineer when they purchased their home?

it depends on who you use, I would say, generally around $500.

My dad served as our engineer, but if we didnt have him, yes we would hire an engineer!

Re: Hi all... New to this board with a question.
Absolutely. Tauscher-Cronacher (the best firm) charges $470 and that includes the certified termite inspection. They tend to be a little more expensive than other engineers, but much better. They only use licensed engineers or architechts (no one who is just a home inspector). They're great.

Yes. I believe that some lenders actually require an engineers report.
We're using Home Sweet Home Inspection and they charge $435 for a terminite and inspection for a single family (with only one kitchen).
