Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Had a little scare last Tuesdy morning. I woke up & felt like I peed the bed, so I got up & saw that it was brown & pink. I called the Dr. & went to the hospital. Evrything is OK, but I had to get a RoGam shot ( I am Rh Negative). They had to administer it in the hospital, but it was OK cuz I got to get another sono & this time we saw the nugget move its head. The heart rate was strong - 140 BPM, but we still have not heard the HB yet. My next visit is Dec 7th & I think I will get to hear it then.
Dr asked if I wanted to do an ultrascreen. I am still on the fence about that one though.

Why would you be on the fence about an ultrascreen? My doctor didn't get me an option. I had to get one.

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Thanks all. I am on the fence about it because I am still under 35, and I am not sure that I would do anything about the results, KWIM? I am not thrilled about the idea of having to get an amnio either, if the Dr does not like the results.
I know it is a very personal decision, and I hope I do not offend anyone.

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Glad all is ok! I am over 35 and didn't have an amnio .. I based that decision on the results of the ultrascreen and AFP testing.. I wouldn't have terminated the pregnancy had anything come back negative - but I felt that I also wanted to be prepared in the event that something were to be wrong with DS
It IS a personal decision though, and a tough one at that - good luck to you!

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Glad you are OK. I had the ultrascreen yesterday - I was under the impression that that is the minimum test your Dr. requests. It is a lot of fun - you see the baby jumping around and touching its face - I was in awe. You also have to give some drops of blood. Really it just lets you know that everything is either ok or if you might need additional testing - which you can always refuse.
I never planned to do an amnio as, like you, I wouldn't do anything with the results anyway. But this test - it was great.

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Hmmmm, that is what Dh said; another chance to look at the nugget. Maybe I will make the appointment. I just freak waiting for results & wouldn't do any further testing anyway. I would just hate to have one more thing to worry about KWIM?

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Oh no...glad all is ok. My next visit is dec 7th too......same Dr...same Due Date....Same appointments.....We should definatly share a room! LOL ....
We opted for the ultrascreen to be safe and to see our bean, and to just stay calm and understand its a SCREENING tool...NOT a diagnostic test, it cant "Tell "you anything...its just a "rough estimate" ...we will use it as such. But its a hard decision.

DH & I are going to talk more about it tonight & see what we come up with. I am 11w today, so now would be the time to make an appointment.

Will you go to Madonna for it? I got an appointment at the babylon office pretty easily just so you know if you decide to go there.
Good luck.

Re: Hi All- Sorry I was gone for a week
Glad everything is okay
Nothing is mandatory when it comes to pg testing. It's totally a personal decision up to you and DH.
we are both a tad bit under 30, no major health issues or birth defects in our families, for DD and this pregnancy we opted out of the ultrascreen and AFP testing.
I am with you, i didn't want to stress about something else, there NO way i would have terminated the pg, the risks for me far outweighed the benefits.
I am glad i did, i had a really hard pg with DD that had nothing to do with the testing, it was just one more thing i didn't have to worry about.

Good luck. Most likely. I have a new job though so I need either a weekend or a night appointment. I think I will call during lunch today.

I agree and did the same.
BTW: I'm just over 35.
