Hi Some of you may have seen my post on NFR, I'm "gonnabeamommy" and I have questions...
Has anyone ever had a pregnancy not develop in a timely manner? For example, I should be 7 weeks, but my 1st sono said I am only 5 weks, confirmed by a blood test. I am not out of the woods yet, and firmly believe this pregnancy is not good.
Has anyone experienced this or know anyone who has? I have a sono next week and wonder what it will say.
I cannot be 5 weeks pregnant, we did not BD around that time, I remember because it was a long stretch.
Everything points to me supposed to be 7 weeks, not 5.......
advice needed.....
Thanks
Gina

Hi,
Sorry to hear that. My SIL was pregnant and had all the symptoms and was growing, but they checked it out and it had not developed into a baby. Not sure if it's the same as you have right now.But keep the faith it might be a glitch. Lots of

why do you feel so strongly that it isn't a viable pregnancy? your bloodwork shows that your hormone levels are good, right? stay positive

because if I WAS only 5 weeks pregnant, that would mean I conceived during a time when we didn't BD for WHILE.....it just doesn't seem possible, and therefore I think the worst.......

are you counting weeks from the time you BD or from the first day of your last period? That could be where the confusion is?

Some pregnancies do not grow according to charts. Have you had a quantitative hcg test(one test and another test 2 days later?) The hormones are a much more reliable way of predicting positive outcome. I assume he measured the sack-to me a measurement can be off by a millimeter or so. Also some people don't see the HB until week 7 or later. I feel for you. I've been there before. ask your Dr to check your HCG as above. GL!

Re: Hi Some of you may have seen my post on NFR, I'm "gonnabeamommy" and I have questions...
My VERY dear friend went to her first prenatal appt. SURE she was 8 weeks along. The sono put the baby about 2 weeks behind her calculations.
She was devastated as she was absolutlely SURE she knew when she ovulated as she has been an avid charter(conceived her first child that way) and knew her cycle like clockwork. So she thought for sure her pg wasn't viable, even though the blood tests came back fine.
She is now 20 weeks pg and just found out yesterday she's having a baby girl.
Try to stay positive- if your bean died at 5 weeks, there is NO WAY the blood results would be where they're at at 7 weeks.
Good Luck and MANY for your baby!

Re: Hi Some of you may have seen my post on NFR, I'm "gonnabeamommy" and I have questions...
thanks everyone.
I go back to the doctor on Wednesday, so no bloodwork 2 days apart.
Yes, we counted to date from my last period.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see, I really don't remember BDing for a while near that time frame, but maybe we really forgot?
Thanks again everyone, it really means a lot...

Demand the test from your Dr. That is the most reliable method. Why wouldn't they volunteer this to you? Peace of mind is everything in pregnancy! Sorry but I think your Dr sux and having dealt with numerous quacks I believe I am qualified to judge! GL.

I assume you are being sarcastic. I am just saying. Insist on the test. At least you will know what is going on. I have been through a lot and the only time i get the tests and medical care that I need is by being stubborn and not letting myself feel embarrassed or insecure around the Dr.

I plan on asking for the test, and I already have so many doubts, as well as with my doctor already, that someone telling me that my doctor sux doesn't really help much. He's not in his office today so I was planning on calling tomorrow.
My cousin who's a ob/gyn nurse also told me to ask for it. I really appreciate the advice, it's just very frustrating as it is....

Re: Hi Some of you may have seen my post on NFR, I'm "gonnabeamommy" and I have questions...
At my first sono my dr told me 7w1d...I KNEW I was 8 weeks pregnant. They brushed me off and as it turned out I had a partial molar pregnancy. That is one of the possibilities which is highly unlikely but totally possible. My baby girl lived for 11 weeks. I did not know until after the d&c that it was a PMP...I am sure this is not the case but if your gut is telling you that something is wrong I would insist on further testing. Test your beta levels if they are extrememly high then that is also indicative if a molar preg. I am just glad my situation ended the way it did because partial molars CAN go full term but the babies NEVER survive, they usually die within a day so that is something you would probably want to know sooner than later. HTH and that I didn't scare you but knowledge is power hun and if you are nervous don't be afraid to push for further tests. I switched doctors during this whole experience. FM if you need ANYTHING.....

I understand but if your Dr is not giving you peace of mind at this stage in pregnancy you need to realize that and move on. I am just trying to save you the issues I have dealt with. Even if he is not in, someone should be able to call Quest or one of the labs to get your blood drawn. Good luck. Hope you get the news you want.
