High Chair
I was just wondering how long children stay in the high chair for. My son is 6 months old and we just started putting him in it. It is an expensive high chair and I was wondering if I should get a booster seat instead or if the high chair is going to come in handy.
Thanks

Re: High Chair
I had the Chicco Mamma which we used for about 4 months. Then we opted for a booster seat. Takes up less space & is portable.

Re: High Chair
My son is 15 months and I still regularly use the high chair. He loves it and so do we. I plan on using it until he no longer fits. I have planty of room in my kitchen so space isn't an issue for me.
I only use my bootser when I go out or to friends and family who don't have a high chair for us to use.

Re: High Chair
At what age did your children start using the high chair? Did you put them in there as soon as they started eating cereal?

I didn't. I am not sure why, we just didn't have it out of the box. We used the bouncy seat for cereal. I just started using it, she is 5 1/2 months.

I too have the Chicco Mamma and while its a good and expensive seat, I prefer the booster. I used the hc with my son for over a year and then I learned how much more convenient and easy to clean the booster is. My daughter never went in the highchair and this baby wont either. I have the reclining one and will use that again.

Re: High Chair
We have the FP Aquarium seat and have been using it for about 3 months with EMily -- since she started eating Cereal. I personally love it. Because of the shape/size of our kitchen it is most convinient for us to put Emily at the end of our table in her high chair so she is in the middle of both of us rather then to put her next to one of us at the table. She eats dinner while we eat dinner. Also she plays with the toys that attach to the tray when she isnt eating and we also put her in it and wheel her right next to the counter while we do dishes and this way we have her close by and can keep an eye on her. So we definately get good use of it and plan on using it as long as she fits in it. We do want to get a fold-up booster seat for my FIL's house and restaurants, but right now it's mainly the high chair for us.
