High Hats

What is a good price for a hight hat with Installation?? Just want to make sure the contractor isn't ripping us off.

I would have to look at our contract, but I believe we paid $125 per high hat last February.

I would think $100-125 would be the going rate.

However you can probably shop this around though as I am sure there are contractors out there that will do this cheaper. Hi-hat materials are cheap so the cost is mostly labor.

Also if your walls and ceiling are already gutted, that makes the install MUCH easier. I would look to pay way even less.

Hell if the walls were gutted, i'd almost look to install them myself. It's not difficult.

I paid $150 but it was when I was in a co-op with concrete ceilings (PITA!)

Dh is an electrician(not licensed so it may effect the price) but i asked him and he said usually $75-100 if the wire is run, if there is no wire and more work is needed and material it is about $175-200..hth
