Re: High Risk Ob recommendations
A MFS is a High Risk Obgyn a RE is a Reproductive Endocrinologist
After having my 2nd miscarriage I went to a RE to go through a lot of testing. They had me do a HSG, CD 3 Bloodwork, Recurrent Miscarriage Panel, Genetic/Immune Testing, etc. The RE will work with you on getting you pregnant again and then treating whatever your cause of the miscarriages is.
After I was released from my RE (once I was pregnant) He sent me over to a MFS who is closely monitoring me through out my pregnancy. I am on Lovenox ( and at risk of clots) so the High Risk Obgyn is keeping a closer eye on me.
Hope that helps!!
Goodluck to you! I am sorry for your losses.

I go to Cornell in the city and very happy with them. I worked with a RE over there who got me pregnant the 1st month working with him and now working with a High Risk Dr at Cornell too.

Re: High Risk Ob recommendations
thanks so much for the info. I'm not sure NYC is practical at the moment based on our schedules. We will see what the future holds tho. Good luck to you too!

I think Dr. Goldschlag is in Garden City location.
Garden City 1300 Franklin Avenue Garden City,NY 11530 516-742-4100
Otherwise Dr. Braverman is a great RE too! He is in Woodbury and specializes in recurrent miscarriages.
800 Woodbury Road Woodbury NY, 11797 516 584 8710

Re: High Risk Ob recommendations
Thanks! Do you by any chance know if the Cornell group only delivers in the city or do they deliver out here too?

Re: High Risk Ob recommendations
I went to a MFS in Flushing at New York Hospital of Queens after my 2nd miscarriage to see what was causing my miscarriages. The dr. I saw was the head of the department and he was soo understanding, explained everything and was very personable. I really liked him. And he called me with my results when he promised he would.
If you want more info FM me. I'm not sure if you're willing to go to Queens to see him but its really not that far from LI.
ETA: My OBGYN sent me to an MFS instead of an RE bc we got pregnant on the 1st/2nd try both times so we don't have issues getting pregnant, just having it stick. The MFS deals with high risk pregnancies as well as recurring miscarriages. He did test me for the same things that an RE would have tested me for.
