Need high protein, low fat food recommendations
My OB just called with the results of my 32 week growth sono.
I have Velamentous Cord Insertion which means that the umbilical cord is not attached directly to the placenta, but instead to the side of the membrane, which may result in a slightly lower birth weight baby.
is measuring at 4lbs 1 oz, which my OB says is fine, and she predicts that her birth weight will be in the low 6lb range.
She said that I should try to eat a high protein diet to increase 's birth weight.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I LOATHE chicken breast.

Re: Need high protein, low fat food recommendations
Do you like turkey or (lean) pork?
Do you like greek yogurt like Fage? Greek yogurts have more protein than regular yogurt.
Smoothies made with protein powder, milk, and fruit?

red meat eggs dairy products beans
Try not to worry about low-fat options. As long as you eat these things fresh (avoid processed) you'll be fine.

Re: Need high protein, low fat food recommendations
I am a vegetarian on a low glucose diet and these are some of my staples:
natural peanut butter (no sugar) with honey on whole grain bread
Quinoa made with veggie broth with veggies mixed in
Veggie burger on whole grain bun with lettuce, tomato and mustard
Nuts and trail mix
Cheese
Beans (black or vegetarian refried) on whole grain wrap with lettuce, tomato cheese, and fat free sour cream
Hummus on whole grain bread with spinach, tomato and red pepper
ETA: Greek yogurt...it has more protein than regular yogurt.
Good luck!!!
