High Winds caused power outage

High winds caused by a departing rainstorm that gave way to a high-pressure system felled trees and power lines Wednesday and caused long delays at area airports.
Thousands of homes and businesses were without power for at least part of the day, the Long Island Power Authority said.
After reaching a high of nearly 20,000 customers with no power in the middle of the afternoon, the utility said all but 3,142 customers had power restored as of 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The gusts, between 20 mph and 50 mph, were caused by the differential between a storm system leaving the area and a high-pressure system moving in from the Southwest. They were expected to diminish by about midnight, the National Weather Service said.
A high-wind advisory in effect for most of the day was expected to be lifted late Wednesday night, the weather service said.
That explains why the clocks were blinking and/or reset when I got home yesterday. We didn't lose power for very long.

Re: High Winds caused power outage
Our power went out at 9:30 last night and was out for a little over an hour.
