My Dad is going to have to go in for Hip Replacement within the next few weeks. He lives OOS.

Re: Hip Replacement
If insurance covers him to stay in the hospital for PT, I would recommend it.
My dad did for his first knee replacement but not for his second. Recovery for the first was much better.

Re: Hip Replacement
My mom had this done in December and she's dong really well. Is his hip replacement scheduled already? She had some sort of new surgery that has a faster healing time and she was really happy with it. If you're interested in learning more I can ask her what it was called. She just drove to florida with my father two weeks ago so clearly she's healing very well. She's still going for PT, I'm not sure how long she'll need to go for.

I absolutely agree. I work on a rehab. unit and patients are so happy they came for a few weeks rather than going home right away. If his insurance won't cover acute rehab., then opt for sub-acute rehab. (which most insurances will cover). It's better because he'll have 5-6 days of therapy as opposed to 1-2 days if going straight home.
