Hofstra Camp?

Anyone sending or used the camp at Hofstra University for their DC's? How are they? Would you share your experience-good or bad. I am thinking of sending my DS there. They have so many options! I like that they have Science based programs and also their theater program looks cool. I would like for DS to have a fun experience but something more informative than a standard day care camp. Is it very intense? We will go their next open house to check it out. DS loved his last year's camp at Hickory Hill where he also goes to after care so that is always an option.

It is a bit too far for me but I have heard good things, FWIW.

Hofstra Camp?

Not intense, very well run...Just ask the questions for what is important to your child. Some of the activities are only 1/2 day and then 1/2 day of rec type camp. Swimming isn't every day for all the camps. It does annoy me that even though they are the same run by and administration if you choose a sports camp and then a speciality camp you have to pay two separate registration fees. BUT all that being said my child loves it, the counselors are awesome and it is VERY well run and EXTREMELY organized.

Thank you so much! It is expensive and kind of far for us too! But I am glad to hear it is well run and organized.

I went to their camps and did acting many years ago. I always was a cub camp counselor ages ago as well. I have heard that their programs are still excellent. I enjoyed going and working there. I would say go to an open house and check it out.
