I'm giving mine 1 weeks salary as a bonus as well as a seperate xmas gift (her bday is on xmas so its a bday gift too). I know its crazy and $$, but fortunately right now we can swing it and its still cheaper than finding a new nanny lol.

I gave $500 which is about a week's pay. I think regardless of what you can afford, most nannies like cash.
I agree, I think cash is always best regardless.

I gave my babysitter 250 -- which is a week's pay for her. I think that's fair

We gave a weeks pay, ornament from DS and gave her off Christmas Eve and are paying her. We live in a suburb upstate.

My DC is in daycare, but I've polled many colleagues. The ones who has nannies said they will be giving 1 to 2 weeks pay - they are treating it like a year end bonus.
Gifts are very nice, but not everyone has the same taste.

Not the same, but I give my cleaning lady a little more than 2 weeks' pay.
