Holiday Lights at Jones Beach or Girl Scouts in Bayport?

If you've gone to either (or both), which did you like better and why? I've heard negative things about each so just trying to decide which one to go to.
TIA!

Never been to Jones Beach, but Girl Scouts is nice, and a fundraiser for the scouts. Bayport is closer to us, so I wouldn't travel the 45 minutes to Jones Beach just for lights, but that's just me.

I know with the Bayport one you need to purchase tickets in advance now.
Plus the holiday village will not be open.

Re: Holiday Lights at Jones Beach or Girl Scouts in Bayport?

We did Bayport last year. It's cute- but I think it's $$$ for what it is. There are many little house displays that are hard to see from the car and the kids were frustrated that you couldn't get out to see them up close or play with them.

I wouldn't do either of them on the weekend. We had a groupon for Jones Beach that I got for $12. It was definitely worth the $12 and since we went on a Wednesday there was no wait. We didn't stop at the concessions- but I know they have pictures with Santa, S'mores and other snacks (all for additional $$)

My honest opinion is save your money and make a list of nice houses to see in your area instead Chat Icon

i went to jones on a friday night with out of town family. it was a very long wait. another family member and i previously saw it and it was basically the same as the one 7 years ago.

bayport was better in that it was different. we went on a weekday and had people honking at us to go faster.

i did notice that headlights do not turn off anymore. i like it with no headlights if possible.
