Holly Hunter Pregnant with Twins
When it rains, it pours:
The 47-year-old Oscar winner is expecting twins with her longtime boyfriend, British actor Gordon MacDonald.
The winsome twosome will turn first-time parents when the new babes arrive this winter, rep Nicole Caruso confirms to E!
No word if the couple plans to wed prior to the stork's double delivery.
A source close to the couple tells Us Weekly that the duo is thrilled about the new additions.
"Holly is taking time off from acting to just focus on the pregnancy," the mag's source claims.
Hunter is estimated to be nearly four months along.
Hunter and MacDonald met in 2004, when the twosome costarred as lovers in London's West End production By the Bog of Cats.
The Georgia-born actress is a Oscar nominee several times over for her work in Broadcast News, The Firm and, more recently, Thirteen. She nabbed Best Actress honors for 1993's The Piano.
In addition to her upcoming diaper duty, Hunter has a full slate ahead on the professional front, with two films in the works.
She's currently in production on the dramatic thriller Downloading Nancy, opposite William Hurt and Stellan Skarsgrd and shoots the racially charged drama My Boy later this year.
The with-children thesp will next share the big screen with Robin Williams and Woody Harrelson in the comedy The Big White, out in theaters this fall.

Thats so true!! Also, I believe I did hear twins are more common in older women. Good for her, though.

well i know that she can HAVE the kids...but being that old...i dunno...not my thing i guess.

I read somewhere that a lot of these older actresses are getting PG with a little help. I can't remember where I read it, but it was about the fact that these announcements are made and the commonfolk (us) don't get told how much work went into the pregnancies.
Not that I have anything against it. I mean those kids will have some life...they just make it seem soooo easy!

YUP! I would bet that they are not her eggs.
Yes, Gerty you are right. No one heears about the extroidinary lengths and money these older women can spend, never mind the time off and then the help they can hire at age 47.
It does paint an unrealistic picture for the rest of us.
