Holy Dusty Yuckiness Batman-- and more progress pics and a question!
You would think I was gutting my entire house with the amount of activity and dust and debris everywhere!! It's craziness!!
How the hell am I going to get everything clean? How much do workers clean up after themselves?
Anyway-- here are a couple of other shots I took tdoay. I didn't take pics of everything because it's all just so damn crazy in the short 2.5/3 hours I spend at the house when I go up to check on things... I cannot wait for it to be D.O.N.E. For those that do major reno's-- my hearts go out to you. While we are not doing anything crazy-- every room is being touched, so everywhere we turn, there is something else to be done.
Anyway-- here are some pics of the DR/LR pass through again-- with the crown and chair rail up. I feel like the opening is SCREAMING for some kind of decorative molding. The walls could not be flush due to support, etc. Anyway-- any ideas???
And an earlier pic of the entire opening for reference:

I have shelving between mine - maybe something like that?
You can see one side here. Maybe yours can not be as deep.
Or maybe some molding like this -

I would also do the moulding that looks like columns, like the ones that Tine posted. That would be gorgeous!
