Holy HeartBurn - I had to go for Pepcid AC - was that bad?

I always get Heartburn at night when I'm trying to sleep. Usually I take a few tums and its fine. But the last 2 nights I woke up a few hours later with more heartburn. Friday night I took more tums and it didnt' really help, so last night, in my sleep deprived state, I broke down and took Pepcid AC. Well it worked and I did get to sleep. Now that I'm more awake, I'm rethinking it... Was that bad?

My doc had given me the OK For pepcid AC...I had terrible heartburn at the end and this is the only thing that worked..it was a godsend and I felt fine taking it knowing my doc ok'ed it.

pepcid AC is fine, but if you have a choice i would take zantac instead. both meds do the same thing, but there is more research on zantac saying that it's ok to use in pregnancy.

My heartburn has been insane lately, especially at night, my doc also told me to take Pepcid because the Tums weren't working anymore.

During my first pregnancy my Doc gave me Zantac and it was such a lifesaver! I had the worst heartburn and it helped me tremendously.
