Home Doppler Rental?
For those mommies who rented a home doppler, did you actually get a doctor's permission or did you just go ahead and get it. I looked at babybeats.com and it asks for a doctor's phone number and name. My doc is out until Tuesday and I want this thing like NOW! I'm ready to overnight it, I'm freaking out so bad. Or is there a rental place that doesn't require permission?

I bought one for 100 bucks on Amazon (Hi Bebe) and it works awesome. I got it at about 13 weeks and found the hb right away.
I didn't tell my doc and it was kind of funny b/c last time he used the doppler on me he expected me and DH to have some special moment and we had to kind of fake it since it was nothing new haha.
I have only used it like 4 times though in the last 3 weeks b/c I read that it *might* sound like a loud train to the baby.

Thank you for the info! I just cracked and ordered it in a panic. I even got it next day air. I'm 12 weeks and I just have to know that everything is okay. I spooked myself and read too many 10 week m/c stories on the FF pregnancy boards. I just can't wait a whole other week (i have a patience problem!).

just keep in mind if you dont hear it now it can be because its too early. but when you do hear it dont mistake it for your heartbeat!!! i did that for a month!  the baby's heartbeat will be MUCH faster than yours.

I just ordered mine on Tuesday-it is sitting on my doorstep right now waiting for me to get home 
I left the Dr information blank and my order went through just fine. I can't wait to get home

When we first heard the HB at the doctor's office with the vaginal u/s, I said Are you sure that's not my heartbeat? And the tech said Your heart doesn't beat at 120 bpm! It's definitely the baby! Although I'm sure my heart will be racing while I'm trying to find it.
I went to babies r us the other night to get the one they have. I was ready to lay the seat down and try it out right in the car. But it's only good in the third trimester. I told DH he's lucky they don't sell them anywhere near us because I wouldnt care how much it costs, it would already be mine!
