Home Renovations Cost
We're in the process gutting and putting our kitchen and bathroom back together ourselves. On average, how much do you spend on both a kitchen and bath reno for materials only? Both rooms are standard size, bathroom is approx 10x10 and kitchen is 11x13.

Re: Home Renovations Cost
It can be done for $20K-$30K depending on your selections. Less if you make frugal choices. Cabinetry is def. something that can range. I know we spent under $10K for middle of the line, did granite so that was another $3-4K I believe and appliances under $5K. Tile, faucet, lighting figure another $1500.
Bathroom doesn't have to cost a lot at all if you're doing the work yourself. You could do a pedestal sink, tub or shower and toilet for $1500 really.

Re: Home Renovations Cost
I spent about 5k redoing my kitchen. It was completely gutted, new insulation, sheet rock, highhats, cabinets, floors (including new plywood) all new appliances (fridge, stove, over-oven-microwave, wine fridge...Appliances are LG) and countertops.
I didn't have alot of money but our house was uninhabitable. We went with Home depot stock cabinets, laminate countertops (we'll upgrade to granite later on) Laminate floors that look like real tile. I LOVE my floors, they dont scratch even with the dog running around and never look dirty.
My stepfather is a contractor so we only paid for materials. I guess it depends on your budget. My kitchen looks beautiful like I spent ALOT more $ than I did.
