im doing a project for school. what is the cost of a new home? back in 1983 89,900..im trying to find in on the web. if anyone can help me thanks

I'm not sure if this helps but back in about 1981 I was living in Michigan and purchased a small 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house on a quarter acre for $39,900. Interest rates were double digit at the time but I was able to assume a land contract for 7.5% interest. I sold the house about 5 years later for roughly the same amount. Home values were not going up much at that time but I got to live there for 5 years without putting much into the place. Monthly payments were only $160 a month!
