I like the circles where it says "Happy Holidays" and the font
The pic is adorable.. I wouldn't change anything on that.
I would change the font on the left to something more plain.

I am still going to work on the Happy Holidays, although everything I am coming up with doesn't look that nice 
Oh yeah - the question about the hat.
This is the whole picture, its not cropped (well, I cropped the left side, but that is because it was blank space)

I do like the fact that it's evenly spaced (in terms of lines) to have something in that line italicized...but I just don't feel like there's really any emphasis on "season" and therefore it shouldn't be italicized.
But like I said, it would look great either way 
Can we see more pics of your DD with her puppy again soon, please?

Oh she is sooo cute!!! Love the santa hat!!
OK here's my opinion:
1) I think the font change is great!! I agree with nbc188 that season shouldn't be italicized.
2) I think what's "bothering" me is that the colors are a little bland. Have you tried out some more vibrant colors?? Just meaning to make the reds brighter and the background whiter.
Just a thought, of course.
