honestly if your child has croup why take them to a class?

I walk in and see a girl I know and she says Jen, don't worry, she's not contagious she had a fever YESTERDAY but is fine today and has had croup the past few days...I was caught sooo off guard that I honestly didn't know what to do...thank g-d she had to leave bc her daughter is a bit older and the older class was in another room..but she was coughing the entire time I was there, granted it was probably not even five minutes but I'm sooooo freaking nervous now, bc of her and her daughter...I understand there are certain situations where you need to take your child somewhere, but this is a freaking library class...I mean REALLY!!!

Sorry, vent over!!!

Uuughh some people just don't think or are just selfish!
My DS had croup last winter and when I told our ped. that I babysit, he said "I recommend you tell them you won't be babysitting tomorrow". I was going to cancel on them anyway, because if their child got sick because of me, I would have felt HORRIBLE!!
Just wash your hands and DCs hands as much as you can!
Sometimes, I just don't get other parents.
And if she had a fever yesterday, she prob. should have been in today...I go by the 24 hour fever free rule!

thanks I did, I wiped her down with like 50 wet ones, thankfully her daughter didn't have a chance to touch anything and I kept DD next to me the entire time away from her, but I'm still nervous and really annoyed

There is one at the LB library Mondays that I go to at 11 and then one in Oceanside that is ok, not great at 10....the LB one I loove....but after this I'm not going for at least after I come back from Vaca, I can't risk her getting sick before we leave

I just can't understand people that do that! I mean, when YOU are sick, do you feel like going out? NO... so why drag your kids out when they are under the weather????? So annoying!

Exactly and its one thing if you're working and you really can't take a day off so you need to bring them into daycare etc...I get that, I really do, but this is a freaking class at a library that moms take their kids to to get out of the house, it's not life or death here...Chat Icon

Hate to say it but that's exactly why I won't go to classes with DD. Too many people have poor judgement when it comes to coming to classes, etc with an illness.
