Question for Class Moms or any mom of a school-aged child
I am my son's Class Mom in his Kindergarten class.
I need to write a letter asking for a money contribution so I can collect the money and present the teacher and aide with a holiday present (probably a GC from the class).
How did you word your letter? Or, if you received one, how was it worded?
TIA!!

Re: Question for Class Moms or any mom of a school-aged child
I was room mom last year and wrote a simple letter.
It's that time of year that we would like to thank our teachers for caring and teaching our children throughout the school year. We would like to collect $$$ (amount) from each family to go towards (insert gift idea). Of course this is not mandatory and you are more than welcome to give your individual gifts, but thought it would be nice to give a group gift. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at( # and email), otherwise we would need the $ before (date) to get the gifts together and present them to the teachers at the Holiday feast (or whatever you all do). i will be in the classroom for drop off and pick upto collect. Thank you and enjoy your Holiday.
Something like that

Never a class mom. But, in my school, the class moms collect for all the gifts, parties , etc up front. This year I gave one of the class mom's $25.00 at meet the teacher night. Just thought this might make things easier in the future.

Re: Question for Class Moms or any mom of a school-aged child
Last year I followed the schools guidelines of how they collect and it was horrible. i spent more money on parties and fundraisers than her actual tuition per month. Anyway, this year each parent in the school pays up front $40 each to pay for 4 parties through out the year, teacher appreciation gift and a Christmas gift. Generally it's $10 a person for the gift. we have 14 kids in the class.
