Horrible Experience getting the blood tests
I went in to the city early this morning to get blood tests before I had to be at work. I got the place and the woman took forrreeeevvvveeerrr to help me, even though I was the only one there!
Finally she takes my forms of all the tests I need and she starts talking to herself saying, oh no, this wont work. etc etc. I'm thinking huh, what wont work, maybe I should go somewhere else.
Then she said go sit in the room and get your arm ready, "I have to make a phone call". She calls some help line to ask how to do one or two of the tests.
Okay, so she comes back and has three viles ready to take blood. She was like you need a whole lot of tests, so I'm going to make sure I give them enough blood for them. So she finishes, and I said, are you sure I dont need more? There were A LOT of tests on there. Three viles didn't seem like a lot. Anyway, she was like yeah, you are good to go. So I got out early and decided to walk to the 25 blocks to my office since it was nice out.
Well I got about 3 blocks and she called me on my cell and said she made a mistake and needed me to come back. So I went back and she needed to take like 10 more viles of blood for tests! I knew it! Then she was like, I'm diabetic and can't eat this morning cause Im getting a blood test, and Im not all there.
So basically Im worried she didnt even take these tests right and they are really important and scary tests! AHHHH!
Oh, and she had the perfect vein the first time, but couldn't prick me in the same spot and my right arm wouldn't give up any blood, so she had to get a new spot on my left art. I have three bruises now!

Re: Horrible Experience getting the blood tests
Awww thanks everyone.
The place was called Sunrise Medical Lab, and the sheet my Dr. gave me only had one location in the city that worked with my insurance. . .
Note to self . . .next time do it in Long Island on the weekend. Who cares if its packed. Maybe it was a bad sign when I walked in and there was no one there! She was the only one working and I was the only patient!

Oh geez. I can't stand incompetent people. Sorry to hear about your experience.
ETA: You mentioned you are nervous she didn't do the tests correctly. I think I would mention it to the doctor when you see him, just so he is aware.

Thanks
I will mention it to my Dr. I mean, I don't know how hard it is to mess up putting blood in a tube . . .but then again, I'm sure its been messed up before!
