Horseback Riding question...
Can I wear capri pants, or should I wear long jeans?
I'm going away wednesday and will be going on a horseback riding excursion. It will be hot, so I really wanted to wear capris, but not sure if I should.
What do you recommend?
TIA

I would wear long pants and be sure to wear hard sole shoes with a heel. The heel keeps your foot from slipping through the stirrup - it's safer. With capri pants you might find your ankle rubs on the stirrups.

I've ridden in capri's, and it was fine. But generally I'd ride in long pants.

Long pants that fit snuggly otherwise you will have chafing and it could be uncomfortable.

If the jeans are too loss they will rub against the saddle and your legs.

Re: Horseback Riding question...
Long, snug-fitting pants (stretch jeans, maybe) and a shoe or boot with a heel (preferably a boot so you have some ankle support) and if they offer a helmet, TAKE IT!!! I have been riding for 20 years and would NEVER ride without a helmet even at this stage of the game.
Have fun!!

Yes, so have I and it worked out fine for me...
But I find it's best, most of the time, (especially if you have never done this before) to ride in long pants. Sometimes the stirrups, the leather straps, the metal pieces (all the little crap that goes on the saddle) can tend to hit your legs as you ride- one time, a little metal piece was sticking into me and I didn't "feel like" getting off and fixing it- well, I had a HUGE bruise from it bumping everytime the horse took a step... So, long snug pants (cotton or a material that breathes) with sneakers should be perfect... lessens the chance for rubbing, bumping, etc!
