The only thread I could find on this topic was a year old...
There have got to be some new ideas out there?
Hot dips, munchies anyone?

Re: Hot appetizers!
i like to make my own pigs in a blanket -- i use pillsbury crescent rolls, and cut them into triangle shapes.... i cut up a hotdog into a couple of smaller pieces and roll the dough around it -- then cook as directed on pillsbury label.
you can also make spinach artichoke dip:
cloves garlic - minced 2 Tbls. minced onion 1/4 cup real butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups heavy cream 1/4 cup chicken broth 2/3 cup fresh-grated Pecorino Romano cheese 2 tsp. fresh-squeezed lemon juice 1/2 tsp. hot sauce 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 cup sour cream (2) 10 oz. boxes frozen chopped spinach - thawed, squeezed dry through a fine sieve 12 oz. jar artichoke hearts - drained, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese 1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese
In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, sauté garlic and onion in butter until golden, about 3 - 5 minutes. -Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. -Slowly whisk in cream and broth and continue cooking until boiling. -Once boiling, stir in Romano, lemon juice, hot sauce, and salt; stir until cheese has melted; remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. -Stir sour cream into pan, then fold in dry spinach and artichoke hearts. -Fold the mixture into an oven safe dish -Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella evenly over top. - Put this in the oven just until the cheese melts on top. Notes: Serve with tortilla chips for dipping and sour cream and salsa.
other things you can make (but i don't necessarily have recipes for)... spicy chicken wings potato latkes quiches mozzarella sticks potato skins mini sweet & sour meatballs stuffed mushrooms baked clams or clams casino

Re: Hot appetizers!
I make Italian Crescent Roll-ups, Brie & Cranberry Puffs, Chicken Quesidillas, Popcorn or Coconut Shrimp,
ETA: Mexican Dip (layer cream cheese, chili no beans and mexi cheese in a pie plate and microwave until melted and serve with tortilla chips. It is always the first thing to go at the table!)

Re: Hot appetizers!
I make a bean chili dip. It is delish!
1 bar of cream chese 1 can of hormel chili (w/ or w/out beans up to u....there is also a vegetarian one too!) 1 bag(2-3 cups depending how cheesey u want it) of shredded cheese (whatever u want..we do cheddar or mexican)
i use a pyrex square baking dish or u can use a glass pie plate (i have always used glass for this)
Spread CC on the bottom of dish evenly then ontop spread out hormel chili
the top the whole thing with cheese.
I put it in the micro for 2-3 minutes til cheese is melted or u can put in oven 350 for 15 minutes again til cheese melts
Serve with tortillas
u can bring this to a party too. JUst make the whole thing but do not heat it up...put in fridge til ready to go or ready to serve.
I bring this everywhere b/c if the person has a micro it is good to go

Re: Hot appetizers!
I made this appetizer last Thanksgiving, it was SO yummy and easy to make.
Baked Brie
1 tube of refrigerated Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls 1 round or wedge of Brie cheese Raspberry Jam, or other sweet jam Brown sugar 1/4 cup of maple syrup Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
On a stick-free cookie sheet, lay out the crescent rolls flat; put brie round or wedge on top. Spread jam on brie, fold crescent rolls over top. Drizzle maple syrup over rolls and place a handful of brown sugar on top. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers and apple slices.

Re: Hot appetizers!
my sister has a great recipe - chicken fajita cups
take kraft cubed cheddar and monterey and/or pepper jack cheese, melt with frozen bell peppers or you can chop fresh if you don't find them, and get frozed pre-ooked chicken bites. nuke it for a bit, stir, nuke again. place melted mixture in tostito scoops, garnish with a bit of diced jalapeno or salsa, and voila! they will go like nobody's business. but make sure to serve immediately or they congeal
