hot flashes during contractions???? normal?

is that normal?

i've been having contractions for days, nothing major.

But tonight i have back pain as well, cramping and getting rather flush and hot. Just came on all of a sudden. My face feels like it's on fire.

Is this normal?

It kind of sounds like your hormones are surging maybe? I got really hot during labor. Combined with the back pain, I think you should call your doctor.

When I was laboring at home and in the hospital, I'd have awful hot flashes when I was having contractions and even worse when I was pushing. I'd put a cool wash cloth on my head

If you're not "supposed" to be in labor now, I'd give the doctor a call. Better off to have a false alarm. I know when I was in labor I was really hot. I remember the nurse telling me we had to turn down the AC in my room when DD was about to be born becuase it was too cold for her (I had the AC blasting becuase I was so hot).
