Re: Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge with kids??
Hershey Lodge is the only place to stay with little kids. Hershey Hotel is much more upscale, hardly any children and nothing for children there.
Anyone with kids, esp young kids, stay in Hershey Lodge for sure. It's a really nice resort. I am always extremely satisfied with it and the kids have an awesome time there.

Did you love the lodge? We are MAYBE thinking of going this summer and staying there. But not sure bc we JUST did disney so maybe thinking of a more beach vacation than another amusement park

Re: Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge with kids??
We've stayed at both the Lodge and the Hershey Highmeadow Campground. The lodge is nice if you don't mind the price. We stayed in a deluxe cabin at the campground and loved it so much more. The deluxe cabins have a full bathroom, plus a kitchen with stove, fridge, sink and microwave. They're brand new too. It was so nice to make a fire, roast marshmallows, and then go inside and watch TV (they have a flat screen with DVD).

We went to the Hershey Lodge.
I hate HATE to be a Debbie Downer, but there was nothing spectacular about that place at all. The rooms were average at best.. The hotel itself was okay. Wayyyyyy overpriced. I would stay at a Best Western or a Hilton Garden Inn & save the money since you will be spending most of your time at the park anyway.

The Hershey Lodge is best for people with children.
If you have some alone time, try to book yourself a chocolate treatment at the Hershey Spa. IT IS AMAZING!!!!

I love the Lodge and as nice as Eden resorts sounds, I would never stay there. The Lodge just screams Hershey, the whole trip. The bathrooms have kiss wallpaper. The Lodge has been so nicely redone inside, with a lodge feel (think scaled down Great Wilderness lodge feel) in the lobby area. Activities for kids. Great pool and nice playground. Cute gameroom and nice mini golf course. And nothing beats the shuttles to and from the park. There are a few restaurants inside, One is a really great steakhouse/fancier restaurant that kids DO go to (a group of us went and had a nice adult meal with the kids just chilling out in their club chairs at the table lol), there is the Bears Den (more casual sports bar), another rest that does buffets (great food also) and a coffee/quick service place that has quick choices. Also a great giftshop, with snacks, etc and a nice bar in the lobby. It has it all IMO.
I have stayed there pretty much every single time I have been to Hershey (about 7 in total in my life). It is such a nice resort experience IMO. Just love it. Kids have a special kids check in, my DD loved that. I just love Hershey and the lodge too. I have visited Hotel Hershey, in the past, thinking maybe I would stay there (before DD). But it is very sedate and boring feeling...so I have never stayed there and never will.

Best Western Eden is a great price for what you get. But IMO it's too far from Hershey if the main focus of the trip is going to Hershey. We went to Hershey 2.5 days and could have actually done 3 days, we even missed some stuff believe it or not. But even still, I personally think it's well worth the $ and experience and even if I was doing Lancaster, etc, I would still choose to stay at Hershey Lodge. JMO though, to each is own regarding what is worth the $$$.

Hmm interesting. We have done eden the past 2 yrs and while I have to say it really is a great resort, and the outdoor pool area is awesome....we are kind of bored with it now and bored with Lancaster.
We did a day trip to Hershey (from Eden resort) last summer and we 100% didnt do hershey to its extent. We missed a LOT!
So this year I was contemplating forgoing Lancaster/ Dutch and focusing more on Hershey. Thats why I am think the Lodge sounds great.
If we decide to go I will def pick your brain about schedules! lol
