Hotels in Philadelphia
I'm planning to go to Philadelphia in May to see the King Tut exhibit, and I would like to stay overnight for a few nights.
I was wondering if anyone has stayed in Philadelphia and would be able to recommend a nice place to stay and other things to do and see.
TIA

Re: Hotels in Philadelphia
We go to Philly a lot and have stayed in several places there...
The Latham Sheraton Rittenhouse Sq. Sheraton Society Hill Loews Hotel
Loews has great rooms-- but the location is good-- but, the area is not as desirable. Close to some things-- but close to a large shopping mall-- feels like 34th Street-- very congested.
The Latham is priced well and is a smaller hotel and the location is great. We have stayed here the most.
The Sheratons are both nice-- just depends on what side of town you want to be on. Rittenhouse area is better for shopping, Society Hill/Old City is better for dining and night life.
Things to do: Reading Terminal (food) Shopping-- Rittenhouse area Phily Museum of Art Betsy Ross House Tons of other historical stuff Drive out to Manayunk (about 30 mins outside Philly) also Chestnut Hill-- i think-- forgetting if that is the right name. Hang out on South Street-- shopping, eating

Re: Hotels in Philadelphia
I live in the philly suburbs, and lived downtown for about 7 years, so if anyone has any questions, feel free to FM me. I'd say the latham or sheraton near Rittenhouse Square are the nicest locations.
